GRANBURY — Elmer H. Ryan, Jr., 79, passed away Tuesday, Mar. 11, 2013, in Granbury.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Mar. 14, 2014, at Fairview Baptist Church. Burial: Fairview Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Memorials: North Hood County Volunteer Fire Department, 3108 Sky Harbor Drive, Granbury, Texas 76049.
Mr. Ryan was born Mar. 16, 1934, in Paris, Ill., to Elmer Horace Ryan, Sr. and Grace McIntyre Ryan. He married Brenda K. Ryan, Jan. 7, 1993, in Granbury and she preceded him in death June 23, 2011. Mr. Ryan was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He was a retired machinist from General Dynamics. He volunteered with the North Hood County Volunteer Fire Department and EMS for several years.
Survivors: Children, Gary Ryan of Palestine, Texas, Barbie Applegate and husband, William, of Granbury; step-daughter, Joey Johnson and Milton Moore, Jr. of Granbury; grandchildren, Mike Ryan of Pueblo, Colo., Laura Chacon and husband, Randy, of Pueblo, Colo., Charlie Ryan of Pueblo, Colo., Lance Corporal Jerod Applegate and wife, Crystal of Havelock, N.C., Maddie Moore of Granbury, Nolan Moore of Granbury; three great grandchildren; first wife, Judy Ryan of Granbury; brother, Ronnie Ryan and wife, Pat, of Paris, Ill.
