Erma would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received an important call with an offer she couldn’t refuse for an appointment from which she will not be returning. The assignment comes with a huge sign in bonus, a reunion with family and friends she hasn’t seen in a long time. She worked toward this offer her whole life and is now fulfilling it.
Erma will be remembered for her faith. She will be remembered fondly. She came from humble beginnings. She was a Sunday School teacher, room Mother, active in her community. Erma was an encourager with poems and scriptures and music. Her laughter was infectious. She tried to make everything fun. She made wonderful lasting memories for us. She had an operatic, soprano voice that when she sang, whether in church or the Star-Spangled Banner at the football game, people would turn and look, it was like an angel singing. She went on field trips, baked a million cookies, pies and meals for so many people and never thought anything of it and never expected any recognition. She did these things for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren out of love.
The first song she taught every baby in our family was “Jesus Loves Me”. She set an example for us to follow of Integrity, Love and Forgiveness. She instilled a value system in us that we can walk through life with and survive well. She lived by the Golden Rule. She was one of the most devoted Christian Servants God has ever placed on this earth. She will always be remembered as the Virtuous Woman spoken of in the Bible. She loved her family best!
We learned to always trust in the Lord and NEVER ever give up! She would say ” things have a way of working themselves out.” She was right.
Erma was a strong, intelligent woman with a heart larger than Texas. Her graciousness and compassion was known by all who knew her. She literally raised her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and most of our friends. She left an everlasting mark on our lives that we will never forget.
Mother told us our Daddy is the only man she ever kissed and they fell madly in love for over 51 years. She is still in love with him, he went to heaven over 20 years ago. We are comforted to know she and daddy are together again.
Erma’s message to you, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul; don’t take life for granted. Life is short, live it in PEACE, HAPPINESS, LOVE and make it FUN!
She would never let us say goodbye, we had to say “So Long” meaning we will meet again.
