“We are all infinite spiritual beings, having a temporary human experience.”
The journey through this “human experience” began for Ethel “Blondie” May in Ranger on May 17, 1921. She was born to parents Ovie and Ethel Windrow Overson. She was their only child.
This cute little girl with green eyes and blond hair matured into the beautiful, fun-loving woman who stole the hearts of all she met. She met Joe A. May, the love of her life, at the Dallas State Fair in 1937 and began their love story that would last until his death in 1993.
Their life journey took them from Fort Worth to California on to West Texas and then finally back home to “Cowtown.” They had three children, a son, Joe May Jr., and daughters, Janice Lewis and Carolyn Garner. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe; her mother, Ethel; and her precious son, Joe Jr. “Jodie.”
The family offers sincere gratitude to the loving staff at Cherokee Rose in Glen Rose, Dr. Amiee Flournoy and American Hospice for all the love and care bestowed to her.
Survivors include her daughters, Janice Lewis of Glen Rose and Carolyn Garner of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Karol Tidwell, Pamela Benjamin, Brandie Seagraves, Shellie Cox, Ron Fowler, Jayson May, Joe May and Jayne May; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
