Evelyn Francis Brite was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on September 10, 1940. She was married to her beloved husband Carl Brite for 47 years, until he passed away in 2010. They were cattle ranchers in Granbury, Texas from 1963 until 2005, when they retired to Cisco, Texas.
She is survived by three sisters – Josephine Gooch, Lonnie Sue Knight, Mary Williams and husband Larry. Daughters – Freda Munoz and husband Larry, and Carla Brite. Nephew – Mike Orsaugh and wife Margaret. Grandchildren – Eric Whitworth, April Wells and husband Quenton, Connie Holt and husband Josh, Kelly Gilliam, Nancy Munoz, and Aly Munoz. Her greatest pride and joy was her five great-grandchildren – Mia Wells, Chloe Stewart, Autumn Ewing, Levi Whitworth and Ava Holt.
Evelyn, affectionately known as “Nana,” was one of the most caring and generous people you’ll ever meet. She loved to talk to anyone, and you never had to wonder what she was thinking because she would tell you. She tirelessly cared for those she loved in times of sickness, and always made sure everyone had whatever they needed. She loved to shop, and often made friends at her favorite stores. Described as feisty, spunky, and sometimes stubborn, she was one of those people who never sits still.
Evelyn passed away on January 15, after a massive stroke. She was laid to rest on January 19 at Long Creek Cemetery, in Granbury, Texas.
