Farris Gartrell

Farris Ray Gartrell, 77, passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at his home.
Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose. Interment: White Church Cemetery in Somervell County. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Gartrell was born Aug. 8, 1935, in Somervell County, Texas, to William Ray Gartrell and Clara Mae Bruce Gartrell. He married Janice Rhea Martin, Sept. 1, 1957, in Stephenville. He was a lifetime resident of Somervell County. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1952 to 1955. He was a flight line inspector for Lockheed and retired after 21 years. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: Wife, Janice Gartrell of Glen Rose; son, Farris “Sonny” Gartrell and wife, Nina, of Fort Worth; daughters, Suzanne Brown and husband, Ralph, of Glen Rose, Jana Reeves and husband, Charles, of Kathleen, Ga., Lisa Gartrell and Gene Fields of Glen Rose; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Sue Anderson of Cleburne, Patsy Bolling of Whitney; and several nieces and nephews.
