Granbury — Gary E. Sutphin, 77 passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, in Fort Worth.
Memorial service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Acton United Methodist Church.
Gary was born January 27, 1938 in Mt. Airy, North Carolina to Elbert Sutphin and Virginia Kathryn Childress. He was a member of Acton United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Air Force. Gary was a licensed air traffic controller. He played semi pro baseball in the old Dodgers organization. He was also an avid golfer.
Survivors: Wife, Peggy Joanne Sutphin of Granbury; sons, Gregory Scott Sutphin and wife, Lisa, of Austin, Taeger Evan Sutphin of Venus; grandchildren, Whitney Jwanowski and husband, Danny, of Mansfield, Brooke Joseph and husband, Ryan, of Corpus Christi, Colt Evan Sutphin of Mansfield, Cade Taeger Sutphin of Mansfield; sisters, Kay Nicholson of Alpharetta, Georgia, Elaina Noonkester of King, North Carolina; and brother, Rick Sutphin of Mt. Airy, North Carolina.
