Gary Mack Childress, of Springtown, Texas, passed from this life Friday, May 20, 2022 after a fiercely fought battle against Brain Cancer.
Services will be held at the Biggers Funeral Chapel, 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 25, 2022, with Bodie Beaman of Springtown Community Fellowship, officiating.
Interment: Ash Creek Cemetery, Azle, Texas, following the service.
Gary was born November 25, 1949 in Gainesville, Texas to Paul M. and Leota Dean Childress. He graduated from Boswell High School in 1968 and then began working in the Commercial Construction Industry and continued to do so until his retirement from Innovative Developers, Inc. in March of 2020. He was married to Jennifer M Childress for 46 years.
He enjoyed fishing, dove hunting and was an excellent marksman. He worked very hard and could build and repair anything. Gary enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and enjoyed celebrating the good things in life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Leota Dean; a brother, Jerry Childress; and two sisters, Sharon Childress and Deana Cowden.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, of Springtown; daughters, Shadi Sutton and husband, Curtis of Azle, and Heather Meeks and husband, Josh of Springtown; bonus daughter, Jackie McDaniel and husband, Jeremy, also of Springtown; his beloved grandchildren, Lauren Yonis (Josh), Caitlen and Chase Sutton, Madison, Ally, and Livie Meeks; sisters, Terri Childress and Karen Hoffman and numerous Nieces and Nephews, Cousins and Extended Family that were all very special to him.
