Gary Wayne Sharp, 71, of Poolville, TX, passed away on March 1, 2023. Gary was born to Dorothy Ellen Glenn and Warren “Jack” Albert Sharp, in Fort Worth, TX on July 12, 1951. Following high school, Gary joined the Army, serving as an Infantryman in the 506th Infantry Regiment, in Vietnam and later as a recruiter during his last enlistment. Following the military, Gary became a successful appliance salesman and continued to master the art of sales until his retirement in 2012. Throughout his life, Gary was an avid Texas Longhorn fan.
Gary is survived by daughter, Cindy and husband Craig Hinson of Dublin, TX; son, Jay Sharp of Byers, TX; son, Jeremy Sharp, and wife, Leslie of Weatherford, TX; sister, Sherri, and brother-in-law, Mark Benson, of Burleson, TX; grandchildren, Leslie, Sarah, and Brandon Hinson; Mason, and Owen Sharp; great-grandchildren, Tacelyn and Tayde; aunt, Bobbye Glenn of Fort Worth, TX; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by parents Dorothy Ellen Glenn and Warren “Jack” Albert Sharp.
A visitation for Gary will take place on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury, TX at 1:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gary’s name to the Disabled American Veterans Association (www.dav.org). Arrangements under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.
