GRANBURY — Glen Hord, 88, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 in Granbury. Graveside service: 1:15 PM, Friday, May 18, 2012, Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Visitation: 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
Glen was born March 28, 1924 in Rising Star to Sidney and Annie Gage Hord. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in France, England, Germany and Belgium and received decorations including the American Theater Campaign Medal, E.A.M.E. Campaign Medal with 3 bronze stars, Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, and the World War II Victory Medal. Glen married Shirley Ann Brown on June 15, 1971 in Durant, OK. Glen worked as a Security Officer at Granbury High School and Harris Methodist Hospital.
Survived: wife, Shirley Hord; children, Billy J. Neighbors and wife Mendy, Tonya Deslatte and husband David; grandchildren, Trisha Bagby, Katrina Shankles and husband Kerry, LeAnn Remmers and husband Victor, Cassie Bartel and husband Jordan; great grandchildren, Kaleb and Kyler Shankles, Cameron and Caitlyn Bagby, Dakota and Braxton Remmers, Jude Bartel; brother, Douglas Hord and many nieces and nephews.
