WEATHERFORD — Glenn Hester, 88, passed away Sunday, Apr. 29, 2012, in Granbury.
Graveside service: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Mr. Hester was born Apr. 12, 1924, in McKenzie, Ala., to D.E. Hester and Etta Harrison Hester. He married Kathleen Chesser, May 1, 1947, in McKenzie, Ala. Mr. Hester retired after 25 years of service from the U.S. Navy in 1967. He had lived in Weatherford since 1984 and he loved to travel. Glenn was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother, Earl Hester.
Survivors: Sons, Tim Hester of Terrell, Earl Hester of Sherman; daughters, Kathy Duncan of Weatherford, Kaye Hester of Weatherford, Sandy Brandewie of Paola, Kansas; grandchildren, Teresa Duncan of Brooklyn, N.Y., Christopher Saxton and wife, Sarah, of New Iberia, La.; great grandchildren, Christopher and Patrick; brother, Daniel Hester of Owensboro, Ky.; sisters, Dot Maynard of Phoenix, Ariz., Marjorie O’Connor of Sulfur Springs, Texas, Gail Wells of Fort Thomas, Ky.
