Helen Frances Altman, 96, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 in Longview. Service: 1 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2018 at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Interment: Granbury Cemetery. Visitation: 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.
Helen was born October 22, 1921 in Cleburne to O.W. and Ella Toliver Weed. Helen was blessed with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She had numerous nieces, nephews and even children who considered her their grandma. She worked in the school cafeteria and was known as the Pie Lady in Granbury, Texas. She was a great cook and friend. She never met a stranger.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charlie Altman and R.L. Martin; and children, John Adrian Martin, Lila Dean Pattillo and Rafton Lee Martin.
Survivors: Daughters, Betty Anderson and husband Ray of Conway, AR and Faye Young of Longview, TX; and son, Michael Martin and partner Susan Crane of Tyler, TX; brother, Wilson Weed and wife Jimmy Weed, grandchildren, Tammy Chancy, Brenda McCoy, Wayne Sunday, Sheri Florez, Mitchell Lee Henry Daviott, Melissa Shnaper, Darla Cumer, Kelly Young, Charles Martin, Amber Sailer, Brandy Martin and Michael Jason Martin, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
