Helen G. Yates, 78, of Granbury, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017. Graveside service: 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 5, 2017, Holly Hills Memorial Park, Visitation: Thursday, October 5, 2017, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.
Helen, the oldest of nine children, was born on June 30, 1939 in Deport, Texas to William and Dora Davis. She married AC Yates II on April 12, 1954 in Longview, Texas. She worked alongside her husband farming and hauling hay. She was also the co-owner of AC Yates rock service.
Helen was the mother of everybody. She raised her children and helped raise her siblings and grandchildren.
Helen collected Harlequin books, salt and pepper shakers and porcelain dolls. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.
Helen is survived by sons: Jimmy Yates and wife Anita, Bobby Joe Yates and wife Lisa, Jackie Yates, and Arthur Yates III and wife Patty, daughters: Mary Lloyd, and Linda Bell and husband Michael, grandson: James Yates, adopted niece: Joyce Lightfoot, 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, brothers: James Davis and wife Christine and Glen Davis and wife, Nikki, sisters: Martha Ann Wiggins, Florene Busby, and Glenda Sue Yates and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
