GRANBURY — Henrietta “Etta” Athey, 69, the “Queen of Monograms”, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Wiley Funeral Home. Burial: Acton Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Etta was born July 9, 1943, in Fort Worth, to Henry and Gladys Fitzgarld Childs. He married Henry Wayne Athey in 1960 in Fort Worth. She was the owner/operator of Monagrams by Etta. She was an active member of Granbury Baptist Church. She also was a member of the VFW Auxillary, DAV Auxillary, American Legion Auxillary, and served as a VA volunteer. She enjoyed oil painting.
Survivors: Children, Dennis Wayne Athey of Granbury, Judy Gail Athey Mecham of Granbury, Jefferson Clyde Athey and wife, Tracy May, of Granbury; grandchildren, Thomas Mecham, Samantha Athey, Felicia Miller, J.C. Athey, Consuela Miller, Henry Athey; 11 great grandchildren; and loving and caring mate, R.G. Thunderheart Todd of Proctor.
