Henry M. Hewitt, 92, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 in Granbury. Service: 1:30 p.m. Monday at Southside Baptist Church. Burial: Laurel Land Cemetery in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Henry was born February 17, 1919 in Crowley to Henry N. and Sara A. Wilson Hewitt. He married Patsy Gibson on September 5, 1992 in Granbury. He lived in Fort Worth most of his life before moving to Granbury in 1970. After retiring as a postal service analyst from the Dallas Regional Office of the Postal Service, he owned and operated a service station in Granbury. He later worked as an administrator for R.W. Hunt Company at Comanche Peak Nuclear plant.
He was a World War II Army veteran and served on Okinawa in the Pacific Theatre. He was an active member of Southside Baptist Church and a member of Masonic Lodge #392 in Granbury.
Survivors: Wife, Patsy Hewitt; son, Eddie Hewitt; daughters, Patricia Fife and Susan Parker; step-sons, David Fulkersin and Don Cook; step-daughters, Evelyn Tarbell and Linda Harrell; ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
