GLEN ROSE — Herbert Benson West, 95, passed away Wednesday, Apr. 4, 2012, in Bonham, Texas.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 7, 2012, at Wiley Funeral Home. Burial: Post Oak Cemetery in Somervell County. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials: Meals on Wheels.
Mr. West was born Aug. 21, 1916, in Nemo, to Aubrey Willie West and Ora Lea Porter West. He married Lillie Pearl Tidwell, Apr. 23, 1939, in Glen Rose. Mr. West was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked for the Lockheed Corp. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and the American Legion in Glen Rose. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife in 2007; and a son, Bryan West in 2008.
Survivors: Children, William “Hank” West and wife, Linda R., of Glen Rose, James West and wife, Linda Sue, of Sulpher Springs, Texas; daughter-in-law, Claudine West of Fort Worth; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; sisters, Florine Tidwell of San Angelo, Leta Moses of San Angelo; brother, Charles West of San Angelo.
