Howard Wayne Lisby, 75, a beloved husband and father who was cherished by his family, passed away Tuesday September 25, 2012.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment: Private family interment at Dido Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Wayne’s name to Gideon’s International, Birchman Baptist Church Building Fund, or First Baptist Church of Lake Worth.
Wayne loved his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and was ordained a Deacon on January 27, 1974 at First Baptist Church of Lake Worth. He was devoted to his family, business, Top-Way Properties Inc. and his best friend Eldon Clark.
Wayne survived polio in 1952 after six months in an iron lung. Later, he graduated from Brantley Draughon Business College. He then entered into the business world forming three companies, one of which was H.W. Lisby Real Estate. In 1980 he along with his nephew, Tom Peterson, formed Top-Way Properties, Inc., a successful sand and gravel business. The business is still in operation today.
Wayne was in treatment for lung cancer at the time of his death.
He is survived by: Wife Judy L. Lisby of Lake Worth; children, Laurel Ann Lisby of Kennesaw, Georgia and Howard Wayne Lisby, Jr. of Fort Worth; grandchild, Jordan Alexandra Morris and husband Chris Morris; great-grandchild, Dakotah Christopher Morris.
