Hubert W. Gatton “Gat” of Granbury passed away at the age of 90 on Oct. 26, 2012 in Granbury.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.

Hubert was born Nov. 11, 1922 to Jessie and Rose Gatton in Joplin, Mo. The family later moved to Dallas where he graduated from high school and trade school.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He spent his career with NCR Corp. for 40 years and retired in Granbury.
He was described by all who knew him as a treasure with a vital and intense love for life. His exuberance and gift of giving will be sorely missed, as will his brilliant sense of humor and ease of laughter and a generous man who loved to help others. He never met a stranger.
Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Austin, Jessie, Buddy, Johnny and Ralph; sisters, Laura, Helen and Rita as well as the mother of his children Juanita.
Survivors: His loving wife of 37 years, Laverne; sister, JoAnn Erickson; son, Phil and wife Rebecca; daughter, Connie and husband George Stringer; step-daughter, Debbi and husband Damon Smith; stepson, Randy Hodge; grandchildren, Sharlane Colton, George Stringer, Tara Hendrick, Ashley Moore; great-grandchildren, John and Emma Colton, Preston and Olivia Hendrick, Greyson, Grant, Griffin Gatton and Georgia Moore.
