GRANBURY — Imogene Louise Greene, 87, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016 in Clifton, Texas.
Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12th, First Baptist Church Thorp Spring.
Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park
Visitation: 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2016, at Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Thorp Spring.
Born in Tolar, Texas on November 17, 1928 to William and Ella Martin, Imogene was the youngest and only girl of eight children. She married Ray C. Williamson on November 21, 1946. They were happily married for twenty-seven years until his untimely death in 1973.
Imogene worked as a seamstress at Maybelle Sportswear in Granbury. With four children at home, she enrolled in college and graduated with a degree in mathematics “with greatest honors”. She began a teaching career that lasted twenty-five years.
She married Jack F. Greene in 1978 and in their thirty years together, enjoyed a life of travel, eating out and enjoying life. Hobbies included quilting, garage sales and collecting music boxes. She faithfully served The Lord at First Baptist Thorp Spring for over fifty years along with her husband, Ray C. and later Jack, teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir.
Survivors: Daughters: Janie and Johnny Sanderson; Connie and Jerry Youngblood. Sons: Dan and Cindi Williamson and Richard and Terri Williamson. Grandchildren: Kristi and Billy Joe Anz; John Mark Sanderson; Jody and Rosa Gafford; Ryan and Christina Gafford; Jennifer Nelson; Eric Youngblood; Ross Youngblood and Drew Youngblood. Six great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews.
