WEATHERFORD — Irene Peters Arwine, 86, went to her heavenly home Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at Lipan First Baptist Church. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery in Lipan. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wiley Chapel in Lipan.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, Irene ould love to have you make a donation to your local church.
Irene was born in 1925 in Atoka, Okla., the daughter of Julian and Jorsey Burgess. She lived a life of generosity, love for others, love for the beauty of nature and service to others. She spent many years working in the nursery with children where she attended church. Irene took good care of both her husbands when they became ill.
Irene loved to laugh and find humor in everything around her even through life’s ups and downs. The workers in the nursing homes she lived in all loved her. They said she made their day. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Orville Lee Burgess; husbands, Ralph Peters and Kenneth Arwine; and grandson, Doug Long.
Survivors: Son, Charles Warner Peters; daughters, Rhonda Deaver and husband, Hoyt, Nancy Long and husband, Danny, Kathy Wages and husband, Terry; sisters, Evelyn Dolberry and Annette Hicks; four grandchildren, Joey and Clint Reynolds, Jimmy Long, Megan Wages; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
