Iris Fern Elliott McIlroy, 93, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, January 23, 2016.
Services: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Wiley Funeral Home.
Burial: Stroud Creek Cemetery.
Visitation: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2016 at Wiley.

Iris, born March 19, 1922 to Lester and Dona Elliott of Tolar, graduated Tolar Class of 1939. Iris married her childhood sweetheart, A.Y. McIlroy, January 3, 1940. They soon settled in Denver City where she was a homemaker and later enjoyed employment as salesclerk and buyer for Collins Department Store for 25 years. Iris returned to Hood County in 2007 where she resided at Quail Park Retirement Village. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, their son Mac, her parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

Survivors: daughters Barbara (Coy) Brown, Janet (Douglas) Henson, Karen (Gary) Sullivan; grandchildren Weldon (Sharyl) Brown, Clinette (Bruce) Hosier, Pamela (Larry) Essay, Suzan (Randy) Levins, Kathryn (Keith) Yarbrough, Lisa Henson, James Henson, Jeffrey (Faye) Henson, Lori (Mark) Holdorf, Tamara (Greg) Gunta, Kim (Tom) Shaw, Vince Sullivan; 19 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
