GLEN ROSE — J.C. West, 89, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016, in Glen Rose.
Graveside service: 12:00 p.m. (noon) Tuesday, Apr. 19, 2016, at Squaw Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Memorials: Somervell County VFD, 111 Shepard Street, Glen Rose, Texas 76043 or Somervell County Cancer Support Group, P.O. Box 152, Glen Rose, Texas 76043.
J.C. was born Jan. 14, 1927, in Glen Rose, to Albert Murray West and Ruby Anice Wood West. He married Amanda Lanett Reynolds 6/22/1952. He served in the Army during WWII in the Philippines. J.C. enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed yearly trips to Ruidoso and the horse races. The family is concerned for the future of Publishers Clearing House & the Texas Lottery without J.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents & siblings Carl Edward West, Alvin Murray West, Lynwood West and Mary Ann West Stacy.
Survivors: Wife, Amanda Lanett West; son, Roy Ice; daughter-in-law, Becky Ice; grandson, Collin Ice; sisters, Neva Smoot, Billie Ruth Ice; multiple nieces, nephews and cousins, special friends the Rories & lifelong friends of Somervell County.

I have many memories if Uncle Jay from his and Lanett's visits to Sweetwater to hunt with Jack or sit around and play cards to have a Toddy! He always had his camera wherever he went. Uncle Jay was a funny man with a laugh and smile I will never forget.
