Jimmy passed away peacefully surrounded by family. The son of Jim and Jessie Landers McCauley, he was a Beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, cousin and uncle. His family was the most important thing in his life. Jimmy enlisted in the US Navy during World War II immediately following his graduation from Granbury High School in 1942. After the war he attended SMU and graduated with a business degree. He represented White Stag for 27 years. He then opened his own clothing store in Ft. Worth called Mary McCauley which was one of the finest specialty shops in the city. Retiring in 1998 he spent his later years entertaining friends and doting on his grandchildren. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, playing bridge and Christmas. He was married in 1954 to his beloved wife Mary Jane Schanck. She preceded him in death this year.
He is survived by two children, Maggie Thompson and her husband Blair of San Antonio and Marc McCauley and his wife Beth of Ft. Worth, Grandchildren Forrest and Claire Sledge and Lauren and Sam McCauley along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. He loved them all so very much. Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate his life in their own way. Raising a glass of their favorite beverage in his memory would be appropriate.
