J.A. “Jim” Kennedy, 86, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at Newberry Cemetery in Parker County. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial gifts may be made to a charity of choice.

James Albert Kennedy was born September 13, 1926, in Millsap. He honorably served in the United States Navy during World War II. Jim married Nancy Lee Butler on June 11, 1955, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. They moved to Fort Worth in 1966. Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, on February 1, 2013; and a brother, Lloyd Benson Kennedy.

He is survived by his children, James L. Kennedy and Susan Hinton and husband, John; sister, Beth Gray; brother-in-law, Harry Butler and wife, Joan; grandchildren, John H. Hinton and Jamie Via and husband, Jeff; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Via and Lily Via; and a number of nieces and nephews.
