I met James after my first tour in Iraq in mid 2006, we hit it off as military history buffs immediately. James introduced me to the Joint Service Honor Guard from NASJRB Ft. Worth and we participated in many events, James showing me what Honor truly means. We deployed to iraq together twice, once in 2007, and again in 2009. Like all of us, he had his demons. I know he was a good man, and a good friend. I miss him and wish i could speak to him just one time. My condolences for your immeasurable loss. James will be missed, and never forgotten.

My Heart Breaks for The Family, James, I will never forget you and all the times you were there for me when I was young, I will always see you as a big brother.
Brian Bouffard left a message on September 20, 2016:
I had the honor and privilege of knowing James, though not as well as I wish I had. But I knew him exactly as he was - a kind, compassionate man who always had an encouraging word and a smile even when going through very dark times. You couldn't help but respond to that smile - I'm seeing it in my memory as I write this. I knew him as a man who deeply loved his mother, his daughter, and his family. I knew him as a soldier who had raised his hand and took an oath to lay down his life to defend all of us. An honor and a privilege, as I said. I can't put it any better than that. May this warrior now rest in peace, and his loving family be comforted in their grief. The painful circumstances of his passing will fade; the memory of who he was will never die. And as for me, I will never, ever, forget him.
