James Allen “Hammer” Simpson, 62, passed away Sunday, October 18th, 2020 at 12:52am in Granbury, Texas surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Allen, born in Pikeville, Kentucky moved to East Liverpool, Ohio where he was a part of an All-State Team where he earned Defensive Honors: First Team All-Area, First Team Columbiana County, First Team Eastern Ohio, Honorable Mention All-State and graduated Class of 1976.
He moved to Texas where he met and married Sheri Coppinger, his wife of 39 years. He became a respected master-plumber in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex and started Simpson & Son Plumbing after 38 years in the business. He got his nickname, from his friends and colleagues, after busting through a slab of cement with a short-handled sledge-hammer while waiting for the arrival of a powered jack-hammer.
He is survived by Sheri (wife), Casie (daughter), Brandon (son) and spouse Leah, three granddaughters Katherine and Emma of Yukon, OK and Mekenzie Miller of Hallsville, TX. Two sisters; Martha and Donna of Ohio. Debbie (SIL) and spouse Bob, Chris (BIL) and spouse Kathy, and many other nieces, nephews and extended family members across Texas, Ohio and Oklahoma.
He is joining his father Luke, mother Margie, brother Mike, father-in-law James, mother-in-law Margaret and many other cherished family and friends.
He was a mountain of a man, loving provider, protector, husband, father and friend to all who knew him. He will be monumentally missed.
