James Currey Sanders, 79, passed away on Friday morning April 21, 2017 at his home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Azle Church of Christ, 336 N.W. Parkway, Azle. Burial will be in Ash Creek Cemetery in Azle. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

James was born September 1, 1937 in Milam County, Texas to Gaines and Margie Sanders. He grew up in Rockdale and Fort Worth where he graduated from Lake Worth High School in 1955. He married the love of his life, companion and best friend of 59 years, Sandra Sanders on December 27, 1957.
After high school he began his career in the aerospace industry at Convair/General Dynamics, where he worked for 17 years. After two brief stops he began working at Bell Helicopter/Textron, where he retired after 29 years. He always had time for his family and enjoyed camping, fishing, and his favorite Texas sports teams.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra; his son, Mike and wife, Natalie; his daughter, Sharon Davis and husband, Randy; he
loved his grandchildren, Meghan and her husband, Aaron of Denver Colorado, Ryan and his wife, Elizabeth of Boston, Massachusetts, Connor, in the USAF, Christopher of Azle, Caitlin of Washington D.C., and Kyle of Azle. He also had two wonderful great-grandchildren, Brandon and Madelyn of Denver, Colorado.
