DECORDOVA — James D. Godfrey, 69, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012, in Fort Worth.
Service: 10 a.m. Thursday at Wiley Funeral Home. Interment: 1:15 p.m. Thursday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 8 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
James was born July 16, 1942, to Jack Godfrey Sr. and Ellen Brown Godfrey. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and owned and operated a Comet Dry Cleaners in Fort Worth and the surrounding area, including Stephenville. He enjoyed motorcycling and golfing. He had lived in Granbury for four years and was a member of Church Without Walls in Fort Worth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ronald; and a sister, Mary Ellen.
Survivors: Wife, Linda Godfrey of DeCordova; children, Christopher Godfrey of Fort Worth, Gayla Puempel of Mansfield; brother, Jack Godfrey Jr. and wife, Pat Godfrey, of Fort Worth; stepchildren, Shawna, Ronald and Paul Galicia; grandchildren, Dominik, Avery, Khloe and Leigh Ann.
