Great and Gentle Man! Always had time for you and willing to listen. Was selfless. What a man should be. Confident in himself due to Jesus being at the center in his life. Always open to give and receive advise. Enjoyed listening to his hunting and life experiences. E V Brown always used to tell me " Whit I hope you're not bored listening to my stories its all us old men have!" That was James, a teller of stories to teach life's lessons, what an honor it was knowing him. He will be sorely missed. May God bless his family but have solace in knowing how well he was loved by many.

To Debbie and the Sim’s family, Please accept our condolences to you and your family on behalf of Mickey and Debbie Chadderdon. We are heart broken and very sorry for your loss. My name is Mickey Chadderdon and I worked with James on the Irving Convention Center project. I was the senior project manager and he was the senior superintendent. James was a one of the best field managers I have ever met in the construction business. He supported every person on our team. James made a point to come to my office every day to meet with me, to discuss the many project issues. I enjoyed our discussions, as he had a way of cheering up everyone and supporting each person on the team. He enjoyed leading his team of field superintendents, foremen, and engineers. We enjoyed his knowledge of construction and his history and how it might apply to our current project. He always listened and gave good advice to help guide us along the way. I was injured in an accident and before I left the hospital he had already built a handicapped ramp directly to my office! He would meet me at my car by the trailer and help me out and up the ramp. He went out of his way to help and encourage me everyday. He was a great friend and since I have retired I have missed him greatly. May God give you comfort, peace, and support during this time.

To the Sims family, we send our sincerest condolences. My name is Don Langston and I worked with James at the Atlanta Airport Parking Deck project. As so many others did, I found a friend in James. For many months on that project, James was my lunch buddy and lunch was by far the best part of my day. We always went to the same place; “Lunch on Main”. James wouldn’t go anywhere else. Every day when we got in his truck, his truck would literally say, “5 minutes to Lunch on Main” We always joked about that. We always went early to beat the crowds and James always had a story to tell. There was no shortage of conversation when you were with him. He was quite a character and no matter how many times he told the same story, you always listened because he might throw a new twist in the story. He might have embellished the stories a little bit. James is just the kind of man people always wanted to be around. He was kind, interesting, engaging and an all-around great man and caring person. That's not to say he didn't know how to motivate people in other ways when he needed to. He was a great field leader and pusher in his role as a Construction Superintendent. He commanded your respect, period. He was a true patriot and he was a God fearing man. You never had to wonder about those things with James. My wife and I got the opportunity to visit with James and Debbie on a couple of occasions in Florida while we were vacationing. They are both great people and I’m grateful that my wife got a chance to meet James and his bigger than life personality. We are both better people for knowing James and Debbie. It’s tragic for James to be taken from this earth so soon. We will miss him very much and our hearts go out to Debbie and his family for their loss. Hopefully they can find some comfort in the great memories of him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them. Rest in Piece James Sims, you will truly be missed by many.
