James Manley Pendergrass, 88, passed away on February 27, 2020 at Community Hospice in Fort Worth. He was born on June 9, 1931 in Lockesburg, Arkansas to James Manley Pendergrass and Victoria (Vertie) Alexander Pendergrass. He was the youngest of five children.
Service: A “Celebration of His Life” service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday, March 2 , 2020 at Western Hills United Methodist Church, 2820 Laredo Drive, Fort Worth, TX.
Visitation: Will be held at 4:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Biggers Funeral Home, 6100 Azle Ave, Lake Worth, TX.
Interment: Will be at Haven of Memories cemetery in Canton, TX at 1:00 P.M.
James graduated from Abbott High School in Abbott, Texas in 1950. He retired from General Motors as a Maintenance Supervisor in 1986 after a 32 year career. In 1968, he married the love of his life, Ella Pearl Sanders. They were married for 30 wonderful years. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. He was above all passionate about his family and extremely proud of all his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. James enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and other family activities. He was a strong, honest man of faith and was a member of Western Hills United Methodist Church in Fort Worth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four siblings, and his beloved wife Ella Pearl.
Survivors: James will forever be remembered by his five children, Bill, and his wife Cheryl, daughter, Donna, Tom and his wife, Vicki, Tommy and his wife, Janet, Karen and her husband, Glenn; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; his nieces, nephews and extended family.
