TOLAR — Morgan Deaver, 83, passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, in Fort Worth with his family by his side.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at Tolar Baptist Church. Burial: Tolar Cemetery. Visitation 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Morgan was born Apr. 8, 1928, in Tolar, to John Curtis Deaver and Mary Betty Henderson Deaver. He married Daphna Mabery, May 20, 1950, in Granbury. A member of Tolar Baptist Church, he was a life-long resident of Hood County. He grew up in Tolar and returned there as the third generation owner of the family farm which he loved next only to God and family. Retiring from GM after 27 years, he farmed full time. Serving as board member of the Tolar ISD is one example of how he served his community. Morgan was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, Helen Nix, Loree Hood, Billy Deaver, Frankie Hujber and Don Deaver.
Survivors: Wife, Daphna Deaver of Tolar; daughter, Brenda Deaver Stokes and husband, Chris, of Louisville, Ky.; sons, James L. Deaver and Cary Deaver, both of Tolar; grandchildren, Justin Morgan Deaver and wife, Leah, Cassandra Mary Stokes, James Cody Deaver, Christopher Ryan Stokes, Clayton Eugene Deaver; great grandchildren, Baili Deaver, Kanya Deaver; brothers and sisters, Claudine Mitchell of Granbury, Zora L. Schrantz of Marietta, Ga., Curtis H. Deaver and wife, Betty, of Alvarado, Laura Jo Manley and husband, Maurice, of Grayford, Hoyt Deaver and wife, Rhonda, of Weatherford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
