Jan was born to Andrew and Lucille McClure in Dallas on December 13, 1934. She was raised in Krum and graduated from Krum High School. On May 16, 1959, she married Norbert Drais in Fort Worth. During the early years of their marriage she dedicated her time to being a great mom and housewife. She enjoyed taking part in all of her kids’ activities and being creative, spending her time sewing and doing many different crafts including drawing, painting and ceramics. As her two children got older, she enjoyed working outside the home in retail, spending many years with Dillard’s.
She had a special devotion to the church and generously gave of her time throughout the rest of her life, serving in any way she could. She enjoyed entertaining, traveling and spending time with her friends, new and old.
Her greatest ambition though was to always be a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and her greatest pride came from her family and the times they spent together. She especially loved caring for and making lasting memories with her three grandchildren.
The family wants to greatly acknowledge and thank the caregivers at Vitas Hospice Care for their loving care, generous giving and spiritual comfort.
Left with precious memories are her husband of 53 years, Norbert Drais; son, David Drais and wife, Bobbi; daughter, Denise Drais Engels and husband, Michael; and grandchildren, Nicholas, Zachary and Lily Engels.
