CRESSON — Jan Daley Osier Penisten passed away peacefully on October 10, 2012 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral: 1:00 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at the Parker County Cowboy Church, 5050 South FM 5, Aledo, Texas 76008. Burial: Cresson Cemetery in Cresson, Texas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.
Memorials: James requests memorials in her honor be made to the American Cancer Society, 3301 W. Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas 76107 or the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo Calf Scramble Scholarship Program, P.O. Box 150, Fort Worth, Texas 76101.
Jan was born on November 11, 1958 to parents, Melvin (Sonny) and Helen Luke Osier in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a member of South Cliff Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Charming and affable best describe the young lady who enjoyed her high school tennis team, cheerleading and her studies throughout her years in the Fort Worth public school system culminating with her graduation from Everman High School in 1976. A proud Horned Frog of Texas Christian University, Jan earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Speech Communications in 1980. The bonds of friendship nurtured at TCU and the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority remained a strong and constant source of delight in her life.
A consummate and proud professional, Jan’s career in marketing and advertising brought her fulfillment and accolades from her peers. Notable corporations like VHA, Inc., Pancho’s Mexican Buffett, Chuck E Cheese’s, Pro Cuts, Summit National Bank and JPS Health Network all benefitted from her expertise and dedication.
Jan married the love of her life, James Penisten, in 1988. They resided in Cresson enjoying 25 wonderful years of marriage and sharing countless memorable experiences with friends and family. Again, Jan’s engaging personality, whit and sense of humor engendered another clique of friends who will forever be touched by her warmth, laughter and love.
Thoughts of Jan will forever bring joy and happiness to the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents.
James extends his sincere gratitude to the wonderful physicians who cared for Jan over the last year – W.S. Lorimer, Julian Armstrong, Mark Redrow, Robert Ruxor and Paul Senter, as well as the nursing staff on the sixth floor, Richardson Tower, Harris Methodist Hospital.
