GRANBURY — Jay A. Martens, 73, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014, in Granbury.
Memorial service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, at Lakeside Baptist Church.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Grace Hospice, 4100 International Plaza, Suite 140, Fort Worth, Texas 76109 (866-417-2923).
Jay was born Sept. 20, 1940, in Decatur, Ark., to Eldon H. and Marie Jantz Martens. He married Marcia Chancellor, May 28, 1971, in Siloam, Springs, Ark. Jay moved to Granbury in 1998 and was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class. Jay was Regional Sales Manager for J.V. Manufacturing, Inc. in Springdale, Ark. for 23 years. He was happiest when RV’ing or working with his beloved quarter horses. Preceding him in death were his father, Eldon H. Martens, mother, Marie Jantz Martens, brother, Leland Martens, and daughter, Jayme Minchew.
Survivors: Wife, Marcia A. Chancellor Martens of Granbury; son, Jeffrey A. Martens of Searcy, Ark.; brothers, Karl Martens and Jerry Martens, both of Springdale, Ark.; and sister, Karleen King of Springdale, Ark.
