Jean Burton, 91, of Granbury, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018. Graveside service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 24, 2018, Holly Hills Memorial Park, Visitation: 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 24, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.
Jean, the second of seven children, was born in a tent in a logging camp, on August 1, 1927 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Arthur and Alpha Ballentine. She married Arlin E. Burton on August 9, 1969 in Orosi, California. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an excellent cook and was known for her potato flake rolls.
Jean lived In Granbury since Christmas of 1977 and attended Elm Grove Assembly of God Church in Tolar. She made crocheted baby blankets and gave them to anyone at Granbury Care Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Arlin Burton and three brothers.
Jean is survived by her son: Jodie Rhea and wife Nona of Granbury, daughter: Jan Bridges of Florida, several grandchildren including Sherry Fulton, Lisa Yates, Dennis Rhea, Susan Wilson, Jennifer Rhea, Carrie Burton, Darrel Burton, several great-grandchildren including Stephanie, Sara, Whitney, Amie, Dakota, Hannah, Ella Claire, Grace, D.J., Luke, Vigo, and Apollo, siblings: Billy Ballentine and wife Pat, Garland Ballentine and wife Jan, and Opal Cribbs and husband Ed, especially close niece: Reba Turner, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
