River Oaks, TX – Jean Cavender passed away with her husband of 58 years by her side on February 9, 2022.
She grew up in Oklahoma City, OK, and had an early passion for horses, dancing, and the beauty of nature. Jean married Robert Cavender on December 6. 1963. They were happily married and raised four children.
Following a committal service at the grave site on Thursday, February 17, she was laid to rest near her son, Robert Anthony Cavender, in Greenwood Memorial Park.
Jean is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Cavender; son Troy Smith and wife, Didi; granddaughter, Brittany Besse and husband, Geoff; grandson, Zachary Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Aria and Leto Besse as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Jean was a charismatic and talented woman with an irresistible zest for life. She loved animals, camping, sewing, and the arts. She dedicated her time to saving the lives of many dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and squirrels. She was a loving wife, an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a wonderful friend to all.
