Hey buddy, it broke my heart to hear the news. I’m so sorry Renae… and to all the friends and family I’ve met over the years through and because of you. You were my first real friend here, you took me under your wing & made sure I was safe and had a person here and a place to go when things were the hardest in my life. I was always in awe of your art, the sheer talent and good nature you possessed, your knowledge and love of and passion for so many interesting and obscure things and your crazy style and weird sense of humor that became a part of my life and things I enjoy, because of your presence in my life. I’ll always treasure all the pictures and videos from our apartment and the years after, all those crazy fun times we had in our 20s together, working at Saltgrass together, taking you back to Ohio with me for a crazy ass weekend, and all the times in between and since. I regret that I haven’t seen you in so long and now I’ll never get the chance to have one of your huge, genuine hugs ever again. Rest well, old friend. I hope you’re skating like a pro, making bad ass art, and living free now. Miss you forever. <3
