Phillip Nivens, 54, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, in Seattle, Wash.
Funeral: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at Acton United Methodist Church. Burial: Acton Cemetery. Visitation: Noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Memorials: Charity of Choice.
Phillip was born Aug. 30, 1957, in Bowie, Texas, to Jerry Martin Nivens and Montez Harry Nivens. He married Vicki Smith, July 27, 1998, in Las Vegas, Nev. Phillip owned and operated the Hard 8 BBQ, CCI and many other entities. He lived life to the fullest and had many accomplishments. Phillip was a pilot, a rancher and had cutting horses. He was the captain of his boat, “The Hard Way”, which he loved to take to Alaska with family and friends.
Survivors: Wife, Vicki Nivens of Stephenville; daughters and sons-in-law, Ryan and Justin Culberson of Granbury, Lanie Nivens of Granbury, Carie and Chad Decker of Stephenville; grandchildren, Maycee, Allie Grace, Talan; parents, Jerry and Montez Nivens of Granbury; sister Phyllis Zinn and husband, Ronald, of Granbury; Phillip’s cousin that he considered to be a brother, Randy Moore and wife, Aletha; his best friend, his dog River; extended family and many friends.
