RAINBOW — Jimmie Don McKinney (Daddy Jim), age 74, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Memorial service to be held at Stonewater Church in Glen Rose, Texas on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM.
Jimmie was born on April 25, 1940 in Cleburne, Texas to W.A. and Connie McKinney. After graduating high school he went to worked at various vocations before settling as a Steel Worker for Chaparral Steel. He was a lifelong member of Rainbow Baptist Church and recently attended Stonewater Church in Glen Rose. Jimmie loved the Glen Rose Tigers. He played football and ran track in high school. He also coached little league and started the Boy Scouts in Glen Rose. He was a boxing coach and a Sunday school teacher and helped Bible school.
Preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, his sister, Sandy Howeth, uncle, Mac McCoy, and his aunt, Veda Smith.
Survirvors: Wife, Betty Ann McKinney of Rainbow, Texas; children, Doby Lynn McKinney and Tracy of Rainbow, Shawn and J. Bridges of Glen Rose, Laura Darch of Rainbow, 21 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. He was also survived by his aunt, Effie Lee McKinney Starnes; niece, Kim Howeth Stuckey; and nephew, Chad Howeth.
