Jimmy Elkins, 94, passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2016 in Grapevine. Service: 2 p.m. Friday at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please do not vote for Hillary. Please give contributions to the Heart Association.
Jimmy was born Dec. 1, 1921 in Buncombe, IL to Samuel and Edith Stewart Elkins. He married Sarah Edith Kelly on Feb. 14, 1951 in San Antonio. He served in the Air Corp-Air Force during World War II. Jimmy was a self-employed irrigation contractor with License #12. He drew professional plans for landscape companies and maintained a beautiful yard. He loved digital pictures and facebook, woodworking, toys and gifts for grandchildren, golf and followed basketball. Jimmy was a member of First United Methodist Church, lived in Houston for 50 years and moved to Granbury in 2004. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sarah Edith on May 23, 2010, two stepsons Mike and Kelly Antoine and five siblings.
Survivors: Children, Barry and Rose Elkins of Woodlands, Kay and Jim Strait of New Mexico, Patti and Steve Heitz of Trophy Club and Cyndy Jameson of Houston, 11 Grandchildren; more than 23 great grandchildren; and sister, Fayetta Ballard of Buncombe, IL. Jimmy was loved and be will missed by so many.
