Joe Kayl, age 59, of Granbury, Texas, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday October 24, 2018. Service: 2:00 P.M., Sunday, October 28, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury. Visitation: 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Saturday, October 27, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home.
Joe was born on March 26, 1959 in Gregory, South Dakota, to Elizabeth (Petersen) and Charles Kayl. He began school in a one room schoolhouse until it closed around third grade. Joe married the love of his life, Rosanne Kayl on December 23, 1994 in Dallas, South Dakota. Joe and Rosanne met at the Lake in Lake Worth, and they did everything together; traveling in their R.V., family reunions, trying new restaurants and new recipes, motorcycle riding and trips. Joe loved his blended family and shared his faith with them. Joe was an active member at Waples Methodist Church. He had a loving spirit and infectious smile that drew people in. He loved his job and co-workers, at Northeastern Pavers. He was preceded in death by his son: Eric and brother: Michael.
Joe is survived by his loving wife: Rosanne Kayl; daughters: Courtney Kayl (William) and Lindsey Romine (Chris); son: Jerred; step-daughters: Denise Cottongame and Courtney Slack (Andrew); 12 grandchildren: Re’gan, Paige, Lilly, Gavin, Brooke, Lainey, Case, Liana, Frankie, David, Ethan and Evan; 3 great-grandchildren: Brayden, David Jr. and Olivia; parents: Chuck and Jean Kayl; sisters: Margaret Kainz, Mariane Bromwich, Patti Greenseth (Ray); brothers: Dan Kayl (Judy) and Larry Kayl (Robin); and multiple nieces & nephews.
