Joe Tom was born on December 4, 1933 in Oklahoma to Nile and Madge Carr on their way home to Texas. Joe Tom enlisted in the United States Air Force as soon as he was of the eligible age. He served our country proudly as a Master Sergeant during four tours in The Vietnam War. Upon his retirement from the U.S. Air Force, he was employed by Dickie Carr Sand & Gravel, Inc. Joe Tom loved to play cards, dominos and shoot pool with his buddies. He also loved watching and collecting classic movies and old westerns. He was quite the jokester and will always be known lovingly as “Go-Go” by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nile Carr and Madge Shirey Carr; brothers, Vernon C. “Dickie” Carr, Pete Carr, and Laverne Carr; sisters, Grace Clarkson, Mary Bob Grimsley, Maxine Morrow, and Sally Yargus; niece, Carolyn Anslem and nephews, Tommy Carr and Bobby Grimsley.
Survivors: Nephews, Richard Carr, Gary Grimsley, Steve Young and Bryant Young; nieces, Cathy Camp, Beverly James, Charlene Harmon, Gail Lynn Young; and many great-nieces and nephews.
