My precious Joe! My favorite and beloved resident, friend, helper, and colleague. I met Joe and LaLee when they made the decision to move Joe into Bridgewater Memory Care and I was the Executive Director. Joe, LaLee and I immediately bonded. Prior to moving into the community Joe sat in his garage/driveway and greeted all their neighbors. He needed a job when he came to live with us. So he became my greeter. Joe was absolutely incredible! He brought inordinate joy to every visitor who came to the community. He looked forward to spending the day outside and interacting with those that stopped by. Everyone knew and LOVED Joe. He knew no strangers. He helped me in the front office on cold, or rainy days and on weekends. He educated visitors on where to sign in, how to call the units, and how to gown for Covid protection. He kept me company when I was lonely on weekends in the front office. So many special memories and stories to share and not enough room. He had a heart of gold and a passion to share love and kindness with others. He holds a deep and special place in my heart forever and his spirit will NEVER be forgotten!

My special brother in law, Joe Igo, was one of a kind! He loved and took wonderful care of my precious sister, LaLee for so many years. The Lord gave Joe and LaLee such a wonderful marriage — a wonderful gift from God! They both loved the other so much. Their kids were their kids and still are. Thank you dear Joe for being so funny, thoughtful, kind, caring, gracious, and wonderful in so many ways - I loved you!

Joe was a favorite co-worker of my husband George Greer and his brother, Ed Greer from 1954-1984, then a favorite coffee and lunch buddy during the 1990s and early 2000's. Rest in Peace Joe and I'm sure all you Dowell exes are having a grand Reunion! LaLee and family, I am praying for God's Grace and Comfort to surround you during your grief. Abundant blessings!!!

I met my sweet Uncle Joe at my Grandaddy's (AL Teaff Sr) 77th birthday celebration in April 1980 - or at least this is my first memory of him. He was so kind to me, even doted on me, making it very easy for a 16 year old to like him and feel at ease around him. He told me last April he remembered that when we met, I was cutting up boiled eggs and when He came in the door, He said I’m Joe. He took a boiled egg & ate it. My mouth dropped open & I stuttered & finally said “those are for the tuna salad I’m making”. He said. I like boiled eggs. Funny how details like that will stick with a person! or how they don't! I remember meeting him and instantly liking him but I don't remember the eggs. I loved him though, and I was so very happy for my Aunt LaLee - that she had found someone to love her so adoringly and I know he treated her like a queen. Uncle Joe - Congratulations on a life well lived! You will be missed! I love you! ~Carla

I was blessed to have met Joe in the early 90’s at work. We had some great fun times there at Pride. We all ended up with nicknames with Joe in them, like Joe Joe, Jimmy Joe, Jeffy Joe, etc. Joe was the best Christmas tree salesman I have ever known, LaLee can testify to that. Joe and LaLee have always be kind and gracious to me and my family. Joe will live on in our hearts and memories. I pray that LaLee and Family be blessed with peace, comfort and strength.

I have nothing but great memories of Joe. I had the pleasure of working with him in the early 90’s. We all had nicknames there with our 2nd name as Joe, like Joe Joe, Jeffy Joe, Jimmy Joe etc. Joe was the best Christmas tree salesman I ever met, LaLee can testify to that! Joe and LaLee have always been kind and gracious to me and my family. He was one of the nicest persons I have been blessed to have known. He will be greatly missed. I pray that LaLee and Family be blessed with peace, comfort, and strength. His memory will live on in our hearts and minds.

I first met Joe when he would work out of Carlsbad,NM. LaLee would often be with him and she and I would visit while he was working. Then sometimes we would have lunch or dinner together. Joe was the ultimate gentleman and would always refuse to let me pay. He was funny and smart. I loved talking to him. He was also so kind to me during a hard time in my life. I also became very close to my beautiful (adopted) cousin, LaLee, whose wise words and kindness are still precious gifts to me. They were beautiful together ❤️
