GRANBURY — Rev. John J. Gaunce, 89, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 in Granbury. Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home. Interment: Garland Memorial Park in Garland. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.

John was born July 16, 1925 in Ladonia to Virgil Riley and Susie Francis Hawkins Gaunce. He married Mildred Burt on Dec. 30, 1944 in Dallas. She passed away Jan. 8, 2011. John served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a United Methodist Church minister. He was a member of the Perkins Theology of the Ministry and Texas Alcoholic/Narcotics Education Prison Ministry and the Southern Bible Institute in Dallas.

Survivors: Daughters, Susan and husband, Jimmy Kilpatrick of Wylie and Teri and husband, Ray Mitchell of Granbury; son-in-law, Jim Bradel of Granbury; grandchildren and spouses, Mike and Jimi Roberson, Michael Kilpatrick, Madison and Rory Delatorre, Spencer Mitchell, Kelly and Trevor O
