John Scott passed away at home on Thursday, January 17th, 2019. He was 52.
Born on July 25, 1966 in Ft. Worth, Texas, John moved to Granbury with his family in 1968. He was a lifelong resident of Hood County. He was a member of Temple Hall United Methodist Church. John was loved by his family and many many friends. He was a very talented musician, playing the fiddle and guitar since the age of 12. John was also an accomplished trick roper at an early age. John loved reconnecting with his many friends through Facebook. He had friends from Bruce Music, Walmart, and several years of playing hockey and rodeoing. John loved to tell stories, and if you’d sit and listen he could always remember a story from “back in the day.”
John is survived by his daughter Jillian and granddaughters Jacey and Juliana, mother Mona Scott, brother Chip Scott and sister-in-law Sharon Scott, brother-in-law Jim Harrell, niece Summer Scott, nephew Tyler Scott and wife Ashley, great-nephew Porter Scott, host of cousins and friends. John is preceded in death by his father Donald Scott Sr and sister Vickii Harrell.
A memorial service will be held at Wiley Funeral Home Granbury, TX on Tuesday, February 12 at 11am. Reception to follow.
