Joseph Hoyt Thomas, 86, of Granbury, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018. Celebration of Life: 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 5, 2019, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
On October 5, 1932, Joseph was born in Weatherford, Texas to Joseph and Alberta Thomas. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He married Barbara Hinkle on December 24, 1952, and they just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.
Joseph worked for the United States Postal Service and was a member of the Granbury Masonic Lodge #392 A.F. and A. M. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister: Doniece Mann.
Survivors: Wife-Barbara Thomas, of Granbury, Texas; Daughters-Renee’ McCoy and husband Ronny, of Godley, Texas and Rhonda Payne, of Lubbock, Texas; Grandchildren: Brittany McCarty, of Godley, Texas, Bryan Keefner and wife Lori, of Brookshire, Texas, Tiffany Hankins and husband Josh, of Willow Park, Texas, Jonathan Keefner and wife Chelsea, of Lubbock, Texas and Colista Learmont and husband Tanner, of Grandview, Texas; Great-Grandchildren: Dax McCarty, Kaylie Keefner, Rhett Keefner, Cason Keefner, Joshua Hankins, Camden Redenbaugh, Bailee Redenbaugh, Brenton Learmont and Brazos Learmont; Brother, Darrell Thomas, of Lubbock, Texas; Brother-In-Law, Craig Hinkle and wife Reatha, of Joshua, Texas; Numerous nieces, nephews, and family friends.
