June Hill Kittrell, 98, died August 16th, 2022, at Legacy Oaks, in Azle, Texas.
Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 22, 2022 in Dido Cemetery.
Visitation: her family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Biggers Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, her family respectfully requests that donations be made in her name to Cook Children’s Hospital.
June Kittrell was born June 2, 1924, to Elmore Grant Hill and John Juliane Gatewood of Walnut Springs, Texas.
As a wife of an educator and coach, June and her late husband had several places to call home from Clarksville, Texas; Mansfield, Texas; to finally settling down with their family in Lake Worth, Texas. They raised all three kids in the Lake Worth community.
In being involved with their kids in school, they also enjoyed taking the family water skiing on Lake Worth and Lake Ouachita in Arkansas, and snow skiing in New Mexico and Colorado.
Along with being long-time Texas residents, they also maintained a log cabin residency in Creede, Colorado for many years. It was a home they built themselves along with the help from their son in law, Bill. It was their passion that they shared with all their family and friends.
June was a very talented artist for many years. Her paintings were admired by all. She was a permanent fixture at the Heritage Hut with all her friends she came to love, know and respect. She loved to crochet hats for the newborn babies at Cooks Children’s Medical Center. She was a talented person with a giving heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milford Lawrence Kittrell of 52 years, and great-grandson, Wyatt Lee Kittrell.
Survivors: June is survived by her sons, Kit Kittrell and his wife, Donna Kittrell of Benbrook, Kevin Kittrell and his wife, Tammie J. Kittrell of Poolville; daughter, Kim Fairchild and William E. Fairchild of Creede, Colorado; grandkids include Koy and Sarah Kittrell of Azle, Jake and Misty Kittrell of Brownwood, Dusty and Shelby Fairchild of Grand Junction, Colorado, Kelly and John Gutierrez of Fort Worth, Brady and Liz Tanner of Lipan, Kenzie and Ty Holman of Azle, and Lexzie Tanner of Weatherford; great-grandkids, Cain Kittrell, Reagan Kittrell, Morgan Lee Kittrell, Ezra Noel Gutierrez, Emery Jane Gutierrez, John Elijah Gutierrez, Presley Rose Fairchild, Rowan William Fairchild, Kaden Tanner, Zane Tanner, and Hollis Holman.
