Karen Marie Byrum, 66, passed away on Tuesday; December 1, 2020 at her home in Granbury, Texas.
She was born March 6, 1954 in Batavia, New York to Michael and Helena Musshafen Zastrocky, and was raised in Colorado.
Karen was a member of Stonewater Church in Granbury. She adored her grandkids and had a love for all people and taking care of her family and friends. Her purpose in life was her heart for God and she was always involved in women’s ministry and was very versed in the bible. She also had a talent for nutrition and was very helpful to others as well as herself. Karen was the Director of Counselors at the Center of Hope and was known nationwide for her talents. She enjoyed traveling, especially to visit national monuments and parks with Gary and her family. Karen lived in Jacksonville FL, Charlotte NC, and Pensacola FL, prior to moving to Texas in 1984.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Rod Newsom.
She is survived by her husband of (45) years, Gary Byrum; daughter, Charity Lynn Byrum; daughter, Rebekah Jean Thomas and husband Matthew; son, William “Garrett” Byrum, Jr. and wife Ashley; grandchildren, Joseph Thomas, Ellie Thomas, Benjamin Byrum, Elliot Byrum and Kaitlyn Menefee; three sisters, two brothers and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Stonewater Church, 911 E. U.S. Hwy. 377; Granbury, Texas 76048.
A private committal service for her family will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
