Karen Reed Oney, 59, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2013, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Saginaw Church of Christ, 201 Western Ave., Saginaw. Interment will be in Dido Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Biggers Funeral Home.

Karen Lee Oney was born March 8, 1954, in Fort Worth to Kenneth Knox and Ruby Lee Reed and lived in Fort Worth most of her life. She graduated from Boswell High School in 1972 and attended East Texas State University where she served as president of Alpha Phi sorority. She earned her bachelor’s degree and graduated in 1976. Karen was married to Bobby Joe Oney May 21, 1977, in North Fort Worth. For the last several years, she had helped her father run farm and ranch operations.
Karen moved on to be very involved in the Junior League and represented Tarrant County on the Farm Services Administration with the Department of Agriculture, served on a number of committees for Eagle Mountain ISD and many other community service organizations in northwest Tarrant County.
She loved and was loved deeply by many different people. Her physical presence will be greatly missed, but her love and spirit will remain with us forever.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Knox Reed, and a sister, Terri Reed Gaw.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Bobby Oney; son, Bo Oney and wife, Justine; daughter, Abby Oney; mother, Ruby Lee Reed; granddaughter, Anabelle Oney; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends.
