DECORDOVA — Kay Jean Crabaugh, 68, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, at a Fort Worth hospice while battling lung cancer.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Friday at Wiley Funeral Home.

Kay was a 1962 graduate of Bellaire High School in Houston. She held a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and a master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. She was employed for over 40 years by the Houston Independent School District as a teacher, coach, counselor and athletic director. After retirement in 2007, she moved to DeCordova Bend Estates near Granbury. Kay was an avid golfer, snow skier and hiker.
Ms. Crabaugh was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille and Clay Crabaugh.
Survivors: Partner, Carol G. Hardcastle; sister, Judy Thurman; nieces, Linde Thurman, Jennifer Eckert and husband, Joe; nephew, Clay Thurman and wife, Wendy; five great-nieces; one great-nephew; and the Hardcastle family.
