My family first met Kevin for the annual 3rd of July Baseball game at Quake stadium. We will remember his smile and enthusiasm during the game. He will forever be consider part of the Prieto Family. I had the honor of being Kevins Recruiter when he made the decision to join the NAVY. Kevin was a motivated and smart young man and honorable Sailor. He will always be missed. I too remember meeting Kevin for the first time around 4th or 5th grade. I was his Sunday school teacher for the next couple of years. As Paige said he would answer all the questions before they would come out of my mouth. I looked forward to Sunday school because Kevin could teach the class better than I could. There was several mornings I would ask him to teach. I know everyone around him knew how much he loved the Lord. I know Kevin continue to touch others hearts has he touched mine. Thank you Kevin for being such a wonderful example of God's love. My prayers will be going up for your family, as you our in safe in the Lord arms tonight.

I served with Kevin during his first deployment, he was a bright young man always striving to learn more and do his job well. I will always remember his passion for knowledge and light heartedness that made everyone around him smile.

To a sailor and family member. I may have been the nicest person to you but I treated you like I treated my own younger brother because that's what you were to me. You are a member of the family that was our division and I will never forget you. You have fallen, Kevin, but you are never forgotten. The seas you sailed before may have been troublesome and chaotic but may the seas you now travel be calm and peaceful. Fair winds and following seas.

I remember meeting Kevin for the first time around 4th or 5th grade. We were in the same Sunday school class until we were sophomores in high school. I remember he could answer all the questions before they left our teachers mouth. I also remember always thinking how different he was in that he knew so much and had such a big personality. Even after our time in the youth group came to an end, Kevin would contact me once in a blue moon to see how I have been. That alone proved how different he was. Different in how kind hearted, genuine he was, to take time out of his life to stop and ask how I had been. I hate that I hadn't talked to him in over a year, but I will never be able to go back on that now. Instead, I will hold our memories close and smile because my life was touched by such a sweet and gentle person. I love you Kevin and will miss you tremendously. Thank you for your service and for always being a good friend.
